Jim ’93 and Melinda ’94 Warfield believe in the value of the
Center for Civic Engagement, the work they do in our community, and the
experiences that CCE creates for Redbirds to learn facilitation of meaningful
dialogues on difficult topics. The Warfield’s gift of $2,000 will be unlocked
today when we reach 50 gifts to the CCE. If this goal is met, Caterpillar will
generously match their donation, unlocking a total of $4,000!

As a student organization supported by the Center for Civic Engagement, Alternative Breaks provides Redbirds with opportunities to embark on life-changing service trips. Whether on local, domestic, or global destinations, Alternative Breaks partners with community organizations to enact social change by tackling issues such as food insecurity, affordable housing, access to healthcare, and children’s education.
In its 25th anniversary, Alternative Breaks needs your help more than ever. We are committed to ensuring that Alternative Breaks remains an accessible program, but in light of the rising costs of travel expenses, our capacity for financial assistance is limited.
Your gift to Alternative Breaks will help students:
- Receive essential financial support to offset trip costs, obtain fee waivers, and maintain AB scholarships.
- Practice service
learning in locations such as Kenya, Costa Rica, St. Lucia, Tennessee,
Kansas, and Alabama.
- Make a Redbird Impact in
those locations by cleaning rivers and waterways, repairing homes and
buildings, feeding those facing food insecurity, and much more.
