How our department will make an impact on students:

Italy, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, Spain, and Ireland are just a few of the countries that Honors students have visited through Honors Study Abroad. Using the “Place as Text Model,” Honors students immersed themselves in each of these locations to explore its culture, geography, and history.

For the first time in the history of the Honors Program, students will have the opportunity to apply for two different study abroad experiences in 2025. Over spring break, students can travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands; in the summer they can explore South Africa. Both locations will give students the opportunity to apply the “Place as Text” model to study issues related to social and political justice, conservation, environmental stewardship, and sustainability.

Your generous contribution will directly assist our students by decreasing the cost of their study abroad experience. We never want cost to stand in the way of a student participating in a meaningful learning experience and your donation will help to make Honors study abroad more affordable for everyone.

Thank you for giving!
