Your giving on Birds Give Back makes an impact for our Redbirds
The Department of Psychology Foundation provides competitive
scholarships and fellowships for our outstanding students. Last year, through
generous donors and community partners, we were able to provide over $28,000 in
funding to our undergraduate and graduate students.
This year, we are focusing on raising funds for the
Department of Psychology Diversity Advocate Awards and our Graduate Student
Merit Fellowships.
Diversity Advocate Awards
Diversity Advocate Awards are given to both undergraduate
and graduate students who exemplify the department’s mission to provide a safe
and inclusive environment for all students. One undergraduate awardee in 2024
focused on advocacy related to women’s sexual health, presenting the results of
her research project at the Midwestern Psychological Association
conference.
Each Diversity Advocate Award provides $500 to a student in recognition of their commitment to making our campus a diverse, inclusive, and safe environment for students.
Graduate Student Merit Fellowships
Graduate Student Merit Fellowships are selected by each program’s faculty and are among the top candidates in each incoming class of students. The fellowship helps each student by providing financial support to allow them to focus on their first year of coursework while they gain research and field experience. Each fellowship provides $2,500 of support during the student’s first year in their graduate program.
Each Graduate Merit Fellowship provides $2,500 to support an outstanding graduate student in each of our Masters Programs and in our School Psychology PhD program.
Thank you for giving and caring for our Redbirds!
