Your Gift Will Provide Emergency Assistance to a Redbird in Need
Interim President Aondover Tarhule and Dr. Roosmarijn Tarhule want to see us support student success during Birds Give Back. They encourage gifts to the Red and White Scholarship to support Redbirds when they need it most. When we receive 50 gifts to the Red and White today, we will unlock their $10,000 commitment for student scholarship.
The Red and White Scholarship is an emergency fund for students facing unexpected financial hardship. When life throws curveballs for our fellow Redbirds, your gifts to the Red and White Scholarship Fund are there to lend a hand and keep students on track towards their goals.
Donations to the Red and White Scholarship changes lives for students like Zakia Hart, who broke her pelvis, spent two weeks in the hospital and then two months recovering at home unable to work.
“The Red and White Scholarship solved many of my financial responsibilities. It lifted a burden off of me, and I’m so grateful for that,” said Hart.
Another student recipient of the Red and White Scholarship, Cameron, found himself on the verge of homelessness when his mother lost her job and his father’s work hours were cut.
Because of generous Redbird donors to the Red and White, Cameron received the support to catch up on his housing payments which allowed him the peace of mind to focus on his studies.
