Build the Redbird Performance Lab – Support Redbird student-athlete sport performance!

Illinois State student-athletes constantly push themselves to their best in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.  What we don’t see is the hours they spend pushing themselves in the weight room to train their bodies to compete year-round. To reflect the commitment our student-athletes make to improvement over the course of their careers, we are committing to giving them an elite area that gives them the tools to improve even more.  Modernizing the weight room to an area that measures data and analytics, our strength and conditioning will become more consistent and reliable, modernized, provide immediate feedback to athletes and coaches, and deliver more competitive workouts. Additionally, it will give us a distinct advantage over our peers.  Over the last few years, we’ve made significant improvements in investing in sport nutrition, athletic training and mental health for student-athletes. This week during Redbird Philanthropy Week, we continue that cycle by investing in student-athlete strength and sport performance.

Over the course of the week and on Birds Give Back, we will be raising as much money as we can to invest into student-athlete strength and sport performance. Gifts this week will be used to purchase a velocity based training camera system for every area of the weight room, force plate technology to track every athlete and build their profile over their careers, timing gates, analytical jump mats, state-of-the-art run racks, and new equipment to revitalize our tracking of our athletes output and performance.

A gift to Birds Give Back is a gift that ensures we continue to provide our student-athletes with the best possible means to achieve their goals while at Illinois State. Thank you for your help and investment so we can reach our goals!
