Student-Athlete Excellence Fund

Redbird student-athletes pride themselves on competing both in sport and the classroom. While we watch them go to battle athletically, what we are not able to see is the countless hours they spend studying and pursuing their respective degrees. In the past, we have invested heavily into sport performance, sport nutrition, and athletic training.

This year, we are investing in our student-athletes academic excellence and mental health by creating the "Student-Athlete Excellence Fund". This is an investment that will continue to produce returns as Redbirds establish their careers and the next generation of students come to campus. Enhancing the Karin L. Bone Study Center will also allow our coaches to better utilize the space for recruiting visits, a vital aspect of athletics. The improved technology will allow student-athletes to be more efficient and effective with their time while visual updates will improve the overall aesthetics of the center.

This year during Redbird Philanthropy Week and on Birds Give Back gifts made will be utilized to create a mental health speaker series, purchase a high-tech wireless printer, branded wall wraps, new carpet, computers, scientific calculators, multifunctional furniture (chairs, desks, tables) a TV (to promote student-athlete success as a recruitment tool and as an information spot for current athletes) as well as other school-related items that will improve the overall academic experience for Redbird student-athletes.

A gift to Birds Give Back is a gift that ensures we continue providing our student-athletes the best possible means to achieve their academic goals while at Illinois State and career aspirations after graduation. Thank you for your help and investment in ISU Athletics!
