To help the Center for Civic Engagement reach 50 gifts today, an anonymous College of Education alum will contribute $1,500 once that mark is reached. This alum is passionate about civic education and engagement and is excited to support students who are making their Redbird impact in their communities and in the world.
As political polarization continues to divide our nation, initiatives such as the Center’s Deliberative Dialogue Program are seeking to promote conversation and to bridge that divide. Deliberative Dialogues encourage students to learn conversational skills and to actively engage over controversial or difficult topics.
To meet the increased demand for Dialogues on campus, the Student Deliberative Dialogue Facilitator Program was created in Fall 2021. The program trains undergraduate students on important conversation skills and the students then facilitate Deliberative Dialogues across the campus community.
This Student Facilitator program allows the Deliberative Dialogue program at Illinois State to continue to expand while also offering students a valuable opportunity to build leadership and conversational skills.
Your gift today helps ensure the future of the Student Deliberative Dialogue Facilitator Program at Illinois State University.
